From a Website Program to a First Event App: How geno.bip 2026 Did Without a Printed Agenda

Many specialist events show their program on their own website. At some point, that is no longer enough. In 2026, geno.bip took the next step: for the first time with a full event app and no printed agenda at all.

CP BAP's geno.bip is aimed at board members, specialists and managers of cooperative banks. On June 18, 2026, around 310 attendees came together at the Flora in Cologne. Topics ranged from steering, processes and sales to regulation such as CRR III and ESG, all the way to digitalization and AI.

talque was not new territory for the team. At previous editions, the program ran via the talque website plugin on CP BAP's website. For 2026, the team used a full event app for the first time.

More than 50 program items in one day, for a leadership audience

With more than 50 program items in a single day, the program was too extensive to present clearly on paper. At the same time, the audience is a classic leadership audience: not everyone is particularly tech-savvy, and many come to the event without a company phone. So the app had to work without lengthy explanations.

Registration and invoicing were deliberately meant to stay with CP BAP. The app was to sit alongside the existing processes, not replace them.

The goals:

  • make the complete program clear and digitally available
  • roll out short-notice changes without reprinting
  • provide presentations directly at each program item
  • encourage exchange among attendees

The solution: the complete agenda in the app

The program in the app. 64 sessions and 61 speakers, clearly organized with quick filters, different formats and assigned topics. For every program item, the presentation was available as a PDF directly in the agenda.

Consistently digital. CP BAP deliberately decided against a printed agenda. Anyone who wanted to see the program used the app. That meant there was only one current version of the program, and changes reached everyone immediately.

Exchange and exhibitors. Attendee profiles, chat and exhibitor presentations in one app. Attendees could add their areas of expertise, such as ESG risks, process controlling or AI, and so find the right people to talk to.

The operating system for your event

91 percent usage the first time out

342 people registered on the platform. On site, 91 percent of attendees used the app, without any printed alternative. For an audience working with an event app for the first time, that is a strong figure.

The help desks that had been set up were hardly needed, and there was hardly any negative feedback from the audience. Program changes could be rolled out at short notice without reprinting anything. Attendees also exchanged 213 chats.

What you can take away for your own specialist event

Start small, grow with the event. From a program on the website to a full app: the step is easier with a partner who already knows the event.

The app adds, it does not replace. Registration and invoicing can stay in your own system. The app is added on top.

Only one version of the program. Without a printed agenda, there are no outdated printouts, and short-notice changes reach everyone immediately.

Simplicity for a leadership audience. Quick filters, topics and presentations right at each program item make even a packed program accessible to attendees who are not particularly tech-savvy.
