How to Use the Lead List in talque: All Your Trade Fair Leads in One Place

As an exhibitor, your team collects contacts in many places at an event. To turn them into business after the trade fair, you need them in one place, with clear responsibility and the right context. That is exactly what the lead list in talque is for.

In this article, we show you how the lead list is structured, how you work with individual leads and what you do with the data after the event.

What the lead list is

The lead list is the combined list of all leads a company generates at an event. It brings together the contacts of all employees assigned to the company. No matter who on your team scans someone: the lead ends up in the same list.

You find the lead list in your company's admin view. A short explanation right in the view helps you and your team get started.

How leads get into the list

Currently, leads in talque come from two sources:

  • Badge scan: An employee scans a person's badge, at the stand or anywhere at the event. This also works with badges from external ticketing systems if they are connected to talque.
  • Contact request: A participant clicks the button on your exhibitor profile and actively asks to be contacted.

More sources are coming soon: masterclass applications, meetings, chats with your employees and a business card scanner.

The columns at a glance

  • Name, company, position and email of the person.
  • Stage: Shows whether someone is already a lead or still a target contact or visitor.
  • First contact: How the first contact came about, for example via badge scan or the button, and who initiated it.
  • Processing status: Open, qualified or disqualified.
  • Assignment: Who on your team is responsible for the lead.
  • Last activity: What last happened with the lead.

Assigning leads

Every lead should be assigned to exactly one person on your team. This person is responsible for what happens next with the contact.

With badge scans and contact requests, a lead is initially unassigned. That is intentional: at the stand, the person scanning is often not the right contact for the follow-up, and with a contact request via the profile, it is simply not yet clear who is responsible. You therefore assign the lead directly in the list and can change the assignment at any time.

Working with an individual lead

One click opens the lead form. At the top, you see the lead data: first name, last name, company, position, email and phone. If someone gives you a phone number during a conversation, you can add it right here.

Below that you find the activities. Here you see chronologically what has happened with the person. You can also add activities yourself, for example a note on a conversation at the stand or a spontaneous meeting. This creates a history that everyone on the team can follow, even if the responsible colleague is unavailable.

Every change, for example to the status or the assignment, is saved with a timestamp and the person who made it.

Keeping track of consent

For every lead, talque records which type of contact is permitted: follow-up email, phone call or newsletter. If someone clicks “Request contact”, for example, this is stored in the system. Every consent is saved with its status and timestamp and is also included in the export. This lets you trace later on what basis you contacted someone. If in doubt about which communication is permitted in a specific case, check with your data protection advisor.

After the event: exporting leads

At the end of the event, you export the lead list with one click, including all statuses, assignments and consents. On this basis, you decide which contacts you transfer to your CRM and how you follow up.

What comes next

The lead list is continuously being expanded. Planned features include:

  • access for employees to the leads assigned to them, including on mobile
  • more lead sources such as masterclasses, meetings, chats and business cards
  • follow-up emails directly from talque
  • a direct CRM integration
