Email notifications
Quick answer
If you haven't turned off the notification function in talque, you'll always receive an email notification when, for example, a chat message comes in. If you don't want this, you can turn it off by clicking your profile picture and then Settings > Notifications.
Tip: Instead of turning off email notifications completely, you can filter them automatically into a separate inbox folder. That way you still receive event notifications with iCal attachments, and your appointments appear in your Google or MS calendar.
