And Richard David Precht shifts on stage between a nuanced, positive view of AI and a critical one. One thought of his, roughly paraphrased: because of phones and the shortcut that AI offers, we — and especially our children — increasingly lack a “richness of inner life.” It's hard to put it better. We (the older generation) mature through the mistakes we've made in our lives. That maturing process is missing entirely with AI, unless we make a real effort ourselves. Everything is available instantly and everywhere, so we no longer have to remember things or process them at a deeper level.
